In your Steam's Warband directory, look for the rgl_log.txt file: "Program Files x86/Steam/Steam apps/common/Mount and Blade Warband"ĭo you see anything unusual listed in that file?Įdit-Add: Important note - The very first thing you should do is disable the "Steam Overlay", especially if you have a newer monitor. Don't worry, it will be regenerated and it will reset your preferences, so you'll just have to go back to your Options menu and set them back to whatever you wish, but deleting this file and allowing Warband to recreate it to default settings often solves many problems. Go ahead and delete it if you have not yet been able to get Warband to run. If it is there, that means that at least Warband started and generated it. Is there an "rglconfig.txt" file there? That is a generated file that will always be generated or checked by Warband whenever it is run. Go to your user documents to check the rglconfig.tx file: How are you launching the game? Are you doing it from your Steam window, Steam's right-click selection window from the task-bar or are you doing it from the Launcher's desktop icon? I don't remember if that is really a problem, here, though. Right-click on the exe file for the launcher, go to the Properties menu, go to "Compatibility" and select "Run in Admin mode." This mode is basically a work-around for Windows OS permissions that enable an executable to bypass certain secuirty settings, like those preventing it from writing/reading outside of its native root directory.
